St Catherine's is lucky to have a dedicated and enthusiastic group of musicians who provide a wide range of music for the liturgy at both the 9.00 and 11.00 am Sunday Masses, with each having its own character.

During 2024, we plan to introduce a new Mass setting by Dan Schutte: Mass of Christ the Savior. We will continue to use the Mass of St Bernadette by Boyce & Stanley.

St. Catherine's musicians are also involved in ad hoc church events including the Lenten Service of Lights and the Advent Service, where they accompany choirs or singers. They also support ecumenical events in the town including the Good Friday Witness Procession and the Folk Festival Service.

If you are interested in joining the Sunday 11.00 am music group, please email me. A standard of musical ability would be expected, as well as attendance at rehearsals, as necessary. 

The Sunday 9.00 am Mass has a small group of people who meet regularly to learn new hymns and Masses and remember old ones. They simply enjoy singing and support the congregation, helping them with their own singing.
