CAKE SALE—There will be a cake sale after all Masses on 11/12 May—proceeds to buy prizes for the parish CAFOD stall at the Minster Fair.  Plates will be given out on 4/5 May

 
     
  PROPOSED CHANGES AT ST PETER’S SCHOOL—The Governing Body has been asked by Bournemouth Borough Council and Portsmouth RC Diocese to consider becoming an all-through school catering for children from reception to year 13.  How will this affect you if you have a child at St Catherine’s School?  There will be an opportunity to find out more on Tuesday 14 May 4.00 pm—6.30 pm at Iford (drop-in session).  
     
  A POINTLESS NIGHT—Please join the Knights of St Columba for a Pointless Gameshow Night on Saturday 18 May at 7.30 pm at St Joseph’s Church Hall, Branksome.  Entrance is £5 with wine and nibbles available.  All money raised to go to 4 charities: MacMillan Nurses, Friends of Dolphin, Disabilities Adverse plus and Catholic  Children’s Society.  If you would like to be a contestant or would like tickets please let Sean know on 01202 772959 or e-mail socialsec@ksc232.org.  Join us for a night of fun and hilarity and help these good causes!  
     
 

World Vision's Girls' Night Out is coming to Wimborne Saturday 18th May 7.30pm to 11.30pm.  An evening of inspiration, entertainment and treats where you will learn more about World Vision's work to empower women in developing countries.  Featuring voice coach to the stars, Carrie Grant and acclaimed comedienne Jo Enright.  A concert, just for women, not to be missed with wine, cupcakes and chocolates.  Tickets are only £5* from the church office  or £7* on the door St Johns' Church, Leigh Road Wimborne 01202 842255

An Evening of Folk Music and Story Telling Monday 20th May at 7.30 p.m with Irish Folk Singer Colum Sands at St. Mary’s Church Hall, 211 Wimborne  Road, Poole . Internationally renowned singer, songwriter and story teller Colum Sands makes a welcome return to Poole for another evening of music and humour.  Support acts: Nigel Waite, The Rock Shandies. The feast of St Rita of Cascia will be celebrated at St Rita’s Retreat & Conference Centre, Honiton, Devon on Wednesday 22nd May with Mass at 12 noon followed by the blessing and distribution of roses for the sick. The day will finish with Benediction at 3.30pm.  St Rita’s shop will be open on two sites all day for visitors to purchase religious articles.

 
     
  Diocesan Pilgrimage to Crediton on Sunday 2nd June at St Boniface Church, Park Road, Crediton presided over by Bishop Christopher—parishioners are warmly invited to the celebration of the Feast of St Boniface, Patron of our Diocese.  Pilgrims are invited to gather from 2pm at the church for light refreshments followed at 2.3pm by a choice of either a talk on St Boniface by Dom Boniface Hill or walking the St  Boniface trail with a local historian. At 4pm the day concludes with Sung Vespers and Solemn Benediction in the church.  For further information, please see poster or e-mail ann.m.edwards@exeter.ac.uk. Friday 5th to 7th July—Exploring Jesus and the Gospels— a weekend of discovering the riches of the Gospels led by Scripture scholar and writer, Fr Denis McBride at St Mary’s Church, Wimborne Rd, Poole. Introductory Session on Friday at 7pm, continuing on Saturday 10am-3.30pm and concluding with Mass on Sunday at 9.30am. Cost £5.00 per person. Please bring a packed lunch to share on the Saturday. CATECHETICAL CAMPS—Three camps will be held at Grangehurst, Buckfast Abbey:

Senior Camp (yrs. 7—10)      28 July—2 August
Junior Camp (yrs. 3—6)        4—9 August
Junior Camp (yrs. 3—6)        11—16 August
