The Rite of Election - an Important Step Forward

At the Easter Vigil Mass four members of St Catherine's congregation were received into Full Communion with the Catholic Church. John and Chrsitina Evans, Linda Allard and Alison Walon had been following a course of studies since last September under the guidance of Father Kenneth Noakes and their Catechist Deacon Michael Allen.

It was a very joyous occasion and all four were surrounded by their families, sponsors and friends, some of whom had traveled from Cornwall especially to be there. In front of all the congregation they expressed their wish to become members of the Catholic faith and confirmed that they believed in all that the Catholic Church believes, teaches and proclaims to be revealed by God. They were then confirmed by Father Kenneth Noakes and anointed with the Oil of Chrism, something he is delegated to do by the Bishop on this occasion.

They then received Holy Communion for the first time at this wonderful celebration of the risen Lord.

It was truly a momentous occasion and all the members of the Parish extend a very warm welcome to them.
