The Rite of Election - an Important Step Forward
A minibus with those seeking to come in full communion with the Church this Easter, their spouses and friends and Deacon Michael, travelled to Plymouth Cathedral for the Rite of Election on the First Sunday of Lent. There they joined over 120 other people from across the diocese who are to take this step in faith. The Bishop of Plymouth presided over the Rite and the names of those to be baptised were inscribed in the Book of the Elect.
In our Parish two adults are to be baptised and confirmed and three are to be confirmed, having been baptised as infants, before entering into full Communion at the Easter Vigil.
Update:
At the Easter Vigil on Saturday 18th April 2006, Five people came into Full Communion with the Catholic Church. Two of them, Vicki Merton and Jean Scott were Baptised and Confirmed, and three others, Tom Cleverley, Jean Horseman and Jim Waldon were Confirmed. They all received the Blessed Sacrament for the first time. |
